Leveling Jewelcrafting

Draenei characters have +5 Jewelcrafting skill because of their passive Gemcutting. An extra 5 Jewelcrafting skill means recipes stay orange for 5 more points, so you can save a lot of gold by doing lower level recipes for 5 more points.

1 - 60

Craft about 80 gems using any uncommon gem recipe that requires a single gem. If you don't reach 60, move on and craft 1-2 more from the last recipe in the guide as needed.

Uncommon gem recipes stay orange until 50, yellow until 55, and green until 60 when they stop giving skill points. New recipes unlock at every 5 skill points.

You can buy a Jeweler's Toolset from Woodcarver Liupo in the village if you don't have one.

60 - 61

Complete one of the following research options to unlock a new recipe. You will craft this recipe 14 times in the next step.

The recipe you learn will match the color of the gems used in research. Pick one based on your available materials.

61 - 75

Cut 14 rare gems from the learned recipe.

If you're short on rare gems, you can wait a day for another research or use Secrets of the Stone (no cooldown, but Spirit of Harmony can be expensive).
